What is Singapore Airlines International Travel Insurance by AIG?

Travel Insurance by AIG is a travel insurance product designed for Singapore Airlines passengers. It protects you from unexpected events during your trip which includes medical expenses, personal accident, travel inconvenience, life-style and value-add benefits.

This product is underwritten by American Home Assurance Company (Dubai Br.).

Who can purchase Singapore Airlines International Travel Insurance by AIG?

To be eligible for cover under the Singapore Airlines International Travel Insurance products, you must be:

  • a resident of the United Arab Emirates; and
  • be 65 years of age or under at the date of buying this policy; and
  • each trip must begin and end in the United Arab Emirates.
How can I apply for Singapore Airlines International Travel Insurance by AIG?

Singapore Airlines International Travel Insurance by AIG is only available on singaporeair.com for flights departing from the UAE. Travel insurance may be included while booking your flight on SingaporeAir.com, or added via Manage Booking.

When does my Singapore Airlines International travel insurance coverage begin and end?

For all plans, cancellation coverage begins on the date your certificate is issued. Cover for all other sections begins when you leave your home or place of departure to start your trip and ends when you return home or until the end of the period of insurance shown as the return date on the policy certificate, whichever is sooner.

Am I covered for business trip?

There is a policy exclusion for claims arising from any business commitment, financial or contractual obligation, including those of any travelling companion or relative, except for Your being retrenched from Your usual full time employment in the UAE.

You may still be covered for other events that give rise to a claim.

Can I add travel insurance to my booking if I have a pre-existing medical condition?

You can still add travel insurance to your itinerary if you have a pre-existing condition however it is important to note that your pre-existing condition(s) are not covered and you are not able to apply to have your condition(s) covered.

Where can I get the full Policy Wordings of my travel insurance policy?

Your Policy Wordings are available on this website. Click here to view or download your Policy Wordings in PDF format. The policy wording can also be downloaded from the link located within the confirmation email you received from AIG.

What should I do if I did not receive the Travel Guard® Travel Insurance Certificate?

If you did not receive your Insurance Certificate, you should notify AIG with your policy number (if available), full name, flight booking number, travel dates, date of purchase, and e-mail address by emailing ServiceCenter-ME@AIG.com, or calling +971 4 509 6111.

Can I cancel my travel insurance policy and receive a refund?

If this cover is not suitable for you and you want to cancel your policy, the policyholder must contact the American Home Assurance Company (Dubai Br.) within 14 days of buying your policy or the date you receive your policy documents.

Provided you have not travelled and have not made a claim before you ask to cancel your policy we will refund the premium the policyholder has paid within 30 days of the date you contact the American Home Assurance Company (Dubai Br.).

What should I do if I get sick or encounter an accident abroad?

Please call our 24-hour emergency assistance number +44 (0) 1273 747 602 or e-mail: uk.assistance@aig.com if you need medical assistance while travelling. When overseas, call collect through the local operator and we will take care of your phone charges (for medical and emergency assistance only). This service is provided by AIG's very own emergency assistance centre.

If you require hospital treatment, please ensure that you keep original copies of your receipts when you return to the UAE to ensure a smoother refund process.
