“I have benefitted from the internal mobility schemes that allows me to rotate to diverse roles, and learn different parts of the business.
Overseas opportunities are also available through the Station Manager and Overseas Manager Schemes. What I find most fulfilling is that regardless of our roles in SIA, we work together to connect people with their family and friends.”
Career History: Faris started as a Network Planning Analyst, before rotating to Regional Marketing Manager (West Asia and Africa). He was promoted to Manager Investor Relations, and is now Manager Partnerships and Prorates.

Career History: Miao Ling started out as an Analyst in Strategic Planning and Group Asset Management, before being appointed as Staff Assistant to Chairman and CEO. She has since been promoted to the role of Manager Kris+ Product Marketing.
“It has always been my childhood dream to work in the aviation industry. SIA offers a global career with opportunities to experience a dynamic career overseas.
There are plenty of opportunities for professional and personal growth where you get to rotate across different fields such as engineering, commercial to operations, planning and more.”
Career History: Jason started out in Commercial Planning, before taking on the role of a Technical Service Engineer. He has since been posted to Beijing as Regional Cargo Manager (North Asia).
“SIA offers me the opportunity to continuously learn. Whatever your career interest might be, there is a role that will suit you.
As a scholar, you get to experience different key roles in the organisation and gain insights into SIA’s commercial and operational areas. There are also opportunities for you to manage one of SIA’s overseas stations.”
Career History: Sameer started out in Commercial Planning and Global & Corporate Sales, before moving to London as Regional Marketing Manager (Europe). He has since been promoted to Manager Northern and Eastern India based in Delhi.
“As part of the SIA Scholarship, I completed three internship stints which gave me valuable exposure to different parts of the SIA’s business, including sales and marketing, finance and customer service.
My advice to our future scholars is to approach with an open mind, and a strong willingness to learn. Do not be afraid to ask questions, and there is always someone ready to support you in your journey.”
Career History: Rachel started out as a Planning Analyst in Cargo Commercial Planning, before moving to Regional Sales Planning (South East Asia). She is now with the Global Centre of Sales Excellence team.

Career History: Char Juin completed his overseas undergraduate studies in 2024, and is now a Data Scientist in the Information Technology Division.
