Operated a third Auckland service over the Northern Winter period, increasing capacity and offering greater flexibility for travellers.

2023

Introduced complimentary unlimited Wi-Fi across all cabin classes, enhancing the onboard experience for all customers.

Returned the Airbus A380 to New Zealand, restoring flagship capacity and premium travel options following the Covid-19 Pandemic.

2021

Supported the delivery of New Zealand’s first batch of COVID-19 vaccines, ensuring critical supply chain connectivity.

Maintained essential services during the COVID-19 period, supporting the return of over 37,000 New Zealanders and 45,000 expatriates. 

2016-2018

Introduced Wellington services via Melbourne before expanding the route in 2018, strengthening connectivity between New Zealand, Singapore and the broader global network.

2014

Introduced Airbus A380 services to Auckland, increasing capacity and elevating the long-haul travel experience.

Formed a landmark joint venture with Air New Zealand, creating new opportunities for travel between New Zealand, Singapore and the world.

2010

Completed the world’s first green passenger flight, demonstrating a commitment to more efficient and sustainable operations.

2006

Launched the eX2 in-flight entertainment system, enhancing onboard entertainment and personalisation for customers. 

2005

Supported the transfer of cheetah cubs to Wellington Zoo, contributing to international conservation efforts.

Enhanced the inflight dining experience with premium New Zealand wine selections.

2003-2004

Added 94 additional flights across Australia and New Zealand, increasing capacity and improving regional connectivity.

1997

Expanded services to five New Zealand cities through partnership with Air New Zealand, strengthening domestic and international connections.

1994

Introduced a no-smoking policy on all Singapore–New Zealand flights, improving onboard comfort and wellbeing.

Introduced Boeing 747 services to Christchurch, increasing capacity and strengthening South Island connectivity.

Launched the first non-stop Singapore–Auckland service, providing faster and more direct connections between New Zealand and Singapore.

1976

Commenced services between Singapore and Auckland via Sydney, marking the beginning of Singapore Airlines’ operations in New Zealand.
