Flying from Hong Kong (HKG–SIN–HKG)

Pre-departure Covid-19 PCR test

You must take a pre-departure Covid-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test within 72 hours before the scheduled departure time of your flight, and receive a negative test result. This applies even if you are returning to your home country.

  • Children aged 6 years or younger in that calendar year are exempted from taking a pre-departure Covid-19 PCR test before their flight from Hong Kong to Singapore. However, they must take a pre-departure Covid-19 PCR test before departing Singapore.

  • If you are returning to Singapore within 72 hours of your post-arrival Covid-19 PCR test at Hong Kong International Airport, you are exempted from taking the pre-departure Covid-19 PCR test before your return flight.

  • You are required to pay for your pre-departure Covid-19 PCR test. The cost of the test may vary, depending on the hospital or clinic.

  • You must also ensure that you have allocated enough time to receive the test results before your flight.

  • Due to the short testing window, you are encouraged to make an appointment as early as possible.

  • You must present your negative pre-departure Covid-19 PCR test result when you are checking in for your flight at the airport. If you are unable to do so, you will be denied boarding.

Clinics/ Test Centres

You must take your pre-departure Covid-19 PCR test at a recognised/accredited clinic or test centre.

For Singapore, please refer here.

For Hong Kong, please refer here.

For greater convenience, make an appointment for your pre-departure Covid-19 test and check your test results online (available for selected clinics only) .

Post-arrival Covid-19 PCR test

You must take a Covid-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test upon arrival in Singapore and Hong Kong. This applies even if you are returning to your home country.

Preparation for on-arrival test at Singapore Changi Airport

All travellers entering Singapore via the Air Travel Bubble arrangement are required to take an on-arrival Covid-19 PCR test at Changi Airport, with the exception of children aged 6 years or younger in that calendar year.

Travellers are strongly encouraged to register and pay for their on-arrival Covid-19 PCR test prior to departing for Singapore.

After taking the test, travellers must take private transportation, taxi, or private hire car from the airport to their declared place of accommodation*. They must self-isolate until the test result is confirmed to be negative.

Checks will be made to ensure that this is adhered to. After being notified of their negative test results, travellers will be allowed to go about their activities in Singapore.

*Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and Long-Term Pass Holders may self-isolate at their place of residence until their test result is confirmed to be negative. Visitors must book an accommodation in Singapore to serve out their self-isolation period for 1 – 2 days while waiting for their test results. The accommodation must be non-residential and an individual room with an attached toilet. Visitors may refer to the Singapore Hotel Association (SHA) website for a list of hotels.

> Pre-book and pay for your on-arrival Covid-19 PCR test

Preparation for post-arrival test at Hong Kong International Airport

Before your flight to Hong Kong, you must pre-book your post-arrival Covid-19 PCR test at Hong Kong International Airport. This applies to everyone entering Hong Kong, including infants and children, as well as Hong Kong residents returning to Hong Kong.

You will be required to remain in the airport to await your results.

Do note that due to regulatory requirements, Scoot has stopped carrying transit passengers on services from Singapore to Hong Kong until further notice. Services from Hong Kong to Singapore remain unaffected, and passengers originating from Hong Kong will be allowed to transfer through Singapore Changi Airport en-route to their final destinations when flying on Scoot.

Important Information About Air Travel Bubble Flights

Air Travel Bubble (ATB) arrangements may be suspended by the respective governments if the domestic Covid-19 situation in either Singapore or Hong Kong deteriorates. Singapore Airlines will adhere to the guidance of the regulators in this situation, and customers will be informed of any changes should they occur. Where customers’ flights are cancelled or reverted to a non-Air Travel Bubble flight, all affected passengers will be eligible for a full refund of their tickets. This includes a waiver of cancellation fees. A full refund will be accorded to the passengers’ original form of payment for unutilised portion(s) of their tickets (including non-refundable tickets).
