Beverage Service
Throughout your journey, a range of hot and cold beverages is available, including juices, soft drinks, teas, and coffees. A selection of alcoholic drinks is offered where permitted, and our signature Singapore Sling is available on board for you to enjoy.

For flights between New York and Xiamen, the piece concept applies for checked baggage. For Premium Economy Class, you may check in 2 pieces, each up to 23kg. For Business Class, you may check in 2 pieces, each up to 32kg. Each individual piece must not exceed 32kg. For cabin baggage, Premium Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. The final allowance for your trip is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members have additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members, although Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members must add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the New York–Singapore sector, Premium Economy Class offers a 38-inch seat pitch with up to 20-inch seat width, and Business Class provides a fully flat bed with direct aisle access at every seat. On the Singapore–Xiamen sector, Economy Class offers a 32-inch pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, and Business Class offers a fully flat bed, giving you space to relax on both legs of the journey.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available. At Singapore Changi Airport, eligible customers can access facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), and KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.

Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from New York but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

Singapore Changi Airport offers an official free transit tour into the city for passengers with a layover of at least around 5.5 to 6 hours, subject to eligibility and timing, allowing you to see key sights before returning to the airport. If you prefer to stay airside, you will find indoor gardens, rest areas, and quiet zones to relax between flights. There are also swimming pools, entertainment zones, and a wide range of dining and shopping options spread across the terminals. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Xiamen follows China Standard Time, which is UTC+8 all year. This means Xiamen is usually 13 hours ahead of New York in winter, and 12 hours ahead in summer.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Xiamen is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
