For flights between Bangkok and Penang, our weight-concept baggage policy applies. In Economy Class, Lite and Value fares include 25kg of checked baggage, while Standard and Flexi fares include 30kg. Premium Economy Class on the Bangkok–Singapore sector includes 35kg of checked baggage, and Business Class on all sectors includes 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights between Bangkok and Singapore, and on most Singapore–Penang services once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. Wi-Fi is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can choose from paid plans. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the Bangkok–Singapore sector, Economy Class seats offer a 32-inch pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, and Premium Economy Class on the Airbus A350-900 offers a 38-inch pitch with up to 20-inch seat width. Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Bangkok but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only. In Singapore (SIN), eligible customers may be invited to the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on their class of travel and frequent flyer status.

Singapore Changi Airport offers extensive facilities for both short and longer layovers, including themed gardens, rest areas, and a wide variety of dining choices. With a longer connection, you can consider the official Free Singapore Tour, which usually requires a layover of at least 5.5 to 6 hours and eligibility checks on arrival. For shorter layovers, you can stay airside to enjoy attractions such as indoor gardens, art installations, and relaxation zones. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it's an integral part of your journey.

Bangkok follows Indochina Time (ICT), which is UTC+7 and does not observe daylight saving time. Penang follows Malaysia Time (MYT), which is UTC+8 and also does not observe daylight saving time. Penang is therefore 1 hour ahead of Bangkok throughout the year.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Bangkok–Singapore and Singapore–Penang) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Penang is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
