Beverage Service
A wide range of hot and cold drinks is available throughout the flight, including juices, soft drinks, and hot beverages. Our signature Singapore Sling is also available on board, alongside a selection of other alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.

For flights between Johannesburg and Los Angeles, the piece concept applies for checked baggage. Checked baggage: Economy Class passengers may check in 2 pieces, each up to 23kg; Premium Economy Class passengers 2 pieces, each up to 23kg; Business Class passengers 2 pieces, each up to 32kg. Each individual piece must not exceed 32kg. Cabin baggage: Economy Class and Premium Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on the Airbus A350-900 once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet on both the Johannesburg–Singapore and Singapore–Los Angeles sectors. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On both the Johannesburg–Singapore and Singapore–Los Angeles flights operated by the Airbus A350-900, Economy Class seats offer a 32-inch pitch and up to 19-inch seat width. Premium Economy Class provides a 38-inch pitch with up to 20-inch seat width. Business Class seats convert into fully flat beds, with every seat offering direct aisle access.

Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

If you have a longer layover at Singapore Changi Airport, you can join one of the official free transit tours into the city, which typically require at least 5.5 to 6 hours of available connection time. For shorter layovers, stay airside and enjoy features such as themed gardens, rest zones, and family areas spread across the terminals. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

In Johannesburg, eligible Singapore Airlines customers may be invited to use the South African Airways The Lounge (Premium) before departure. During your layover at Singapore Changi Airport, eligible customers may have access to the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on cabin and frequent flyer status. Lounge access is always subject to eligibility and space on the day.

Los Angeles is in the America/Los_Angeles time zone, using Pacific Standard Time (UTC−8) roughly from November to March, and Pacific Daylight Time (UTC−7) from March to November. This means Los Angeles is normally 10 hours behind Johannesburg during Northern Hemisphere winter, and 9 hours behind during Northern Hemisphere summer.
