For Christchurch–Cebu journeys, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are as follows: Economy Class (25kg on Lite/Value fares, 30kg on Standard/Flexi fares), Premium Economy Class (35kg), and Business Class (40kg). Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg. Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your exact allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Christchurch to Cebu once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Christchurch but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only. In Singapore (SIN), eligible customers can relax in facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), and the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.

Singapore Changi Airport offers many ways to make your layover enjoyable, from themed gardens and art installations to rest areas and quiet zones where you can relax between flights. With sufficient transit time, you may also be able to join a free city tour, which usually requires a layover of at least 5.5 to 6 hours.

If your connection is shorter, you can stay airside and explore Changi Airport's terminals, which feature walking trails, play areas, and spa or shower facilities. For longer daytime layovers, airport hotels and nap facilities offer extra comfort without leaving the terminal area.

Cebu uses Philippine Time (UTC+8) year-round. This means Cebu is 4 hours behind Christchurch in New Zealand winter, and 5 hours behind during New Zealand summer.
