In general, November to March is the cooler, drier period in much of the country, while April to October is warmer and more humid, with regional differences. From December to March (shoulder season), northern areas around Hanoi are cooler, averaging about 15–20°C (59–68°F), while central and southern cities such as Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City are mild to warm, around 22–28°C (72–82°F). From April to August (peak season), temperatures commonly reach 28–34°C (82–93°F) across many regions, with hotter days inland and in the south, and this is a popular time for beach and coastal trips despite higher humidity. From September to November (low season), showers can be more frequent in some coastal and central areas, with temperatures generally around 24–30°C (75–86°F), but there are still many clear days, and crowds are often lighter outside major holidays.
