Beverage Service
Throughout your journey, you can enjoy a selection of hot and cold drinks, including juices, soft drinks, tea, coffee, and a curated list of alcoholic beverages. Our signature Singapore Sling is available on board for you to savour above the clouds. Please note that no meal service is provided for Economy Class passengers on the Singapore–Penang segment due to the short flight time.

For flights between Manila and Penang, our weight-concept baggage policy applies. In Economy Class, checked baggage allowances are 25kg for Lite and Value fares, and 30kg for Standard and Flexi fares. Business Class customers enjoy a 40kg checked baggage allowance. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg in weight.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your exact allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Manila to Penang once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class members must add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On both the Manila–Singapore and Singapore–Penang sectors, Economy Class seats offer a 32-inch pitch and up to 19-inch seat width, providing comfortable legroom for the journey. Business Class features a fully flat bed with direct aisle access on all services, giving you ample space to rest and work.

Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Manila but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only. In Singapore, eligible passengers can use facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), and KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.

If you have a longer layover at Singapore Changi Airport, consider joining the airport’s free transit tour, which typically requires a minimum layover of around 5.5 hours. These tours offer a brief introduction to the city’s highlights without the need to manage logistics independently.

For shorter layovers, stay airside and enjoy Changi Airport’s many amenities, including themed gardens, rest areas, quiet zones, and family-friendly spaces. Some terminals also feature attractions such as indoor greenery and relaxation facilities that help you recharge between flights.

If you prefer to freshen up or rest, look for airport hotels or paid rest areas within the terminal complex, which can be booked by the hour. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Manila operates on Philippine Time, which is UTC+8 all year and does not observe daylight saving time. Penang also follows Malaysia Time, which is UTC+8 without daylight saving. This means there is no time difference between Manila and Penang at any time of the year.

For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Penang is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
