For Medan–Xiamen flights, the weight concept applies to checked baggage. In Economy Class, Lite and Value fares include 25kg of checked baggage, while Standard and Flexi fares include 30kg. In Business Class, the checked baggage allowance is 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg. Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. The final baggage allowance for your journey is always shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans.

The service is designed for messaging, email, and basic browsing. It does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers, so we recommend planning any data-heavy tasks for before or after your flight.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Medan but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only. In Singapore, eligible travellers may use facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), and KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.

Singapore Changi Airport offers a wide range of facilities that make layovers comfortable and enjoyable, from themed gardens and art installations to quiet zones and rest areas. For shorter connections, staying airside lets you explore relaxation spaces, playgrounds, and a variety of dining outlets near your gate.

If you have a longer layover of at least 5.5 to 6 hours, you can consider joining one of the airport’s official transit tour programmes, which take you into the city to see key highlights before returning in time for your onward flight. These tours are designed around transit passengers and operate at set times.

Medan follows Western Indonesia Time (WIB), which is UTC+7 and does not observe daylight saving time. Xiamen follows China Standard Time, which is UTC+8 and also does not use daylight saving time. Xiamen is therefore 1 hour ahead of Medan throughout the year.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:
