A selection of hot and cold drinks is served throughout the flight, including juices, soft drinks, and hot beverages. Our signature Singapore Sling is also available on board.

For flights between Chongqing and Istanbul, the weight concept applies. For checked baggage, Economy Class passengers may check 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. Premium Economy Class passengers may check 35kg, and Business Class passengers may check 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg. Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On both the Chongqing–Singapore and Singapore–Istanbul sectors, Economy Class offers a seat pitch of around 32 inches and up to 19 inches of seat width, providing comfortable legroom for long flights.

On both sectors, Premium Economy Class is available only on the Singapore–Istanbul Airbus A350-900 service, with a 38-inch seat pitch and up to 20-inch seat width for added personal space.

Business Class is available on both sectors, with seats that convert into fully flat beds and provide direct aisle access on the Airbus A350-900 between Singapore and Istanbul, and spacious reclining seats on the Boeing 737-8 MAX between Chongqing and Singapore.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Eligible customers may be able to use facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge at Singapore Changi Airport, depending on cabin and status.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Chongqing but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

Singapore Changi Airport is well suited to layovers of all lengths. For longer connections of at least 5.5 to 6 hours, you can consider a guided transit tour into the city, subject to programme availability and entry requirements, to see highlights before returning for your onward flight.

For shorter layovers, staying airside gives you access to themed gardens, rest areas, and quiet zones where you can relax or freshen up. Selected terminals also offer playgrounds, art installations, and spaces designed for stretching your legs between flights.

If you prefer privacy, you may choose an airport hotel or paid lounge for rest and showers before continuing to Istanbul. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Chongqing follows China Standard Time, which is UTC+8 and does not observe daylight saving time. Istanbul follows Türkiye Time, which is usually UTC+3 and also does not observe daylight saving time. This means Istanbul is typically 5 hours behind Chongqing throughout the year.

Yes, your baggage will typically be checked through to Istanbul Airport when flying from Chongqing via Singapore on a single booking with Singapore Airlines.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Chongqing–Singapore and Singapore–Istanbul) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Istanbul is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
