Beverage Service
Throughout your flights, you can enjoy a selection of hot and cold drinks, including juices, soft drinks, teas, coffees, and alcoholic beverages. Our signature Singapore Sling is available on board. Please note that no meal service is provided for Economy Class passengers on the Singapore–Penang segment due to the short flight time.

For flights between New York and Penang, the piece concept applies. For checked baggage, Premium Economy Class passengers may take 2 pieces, each up to 23kg, and Business Class passengers may take 2 pieces, each up to 32kg. Each individual checked bag must not exceed 32kg. For cabin baggage, Premium Economy Class passengers may carry 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class passengers may carry 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your exact allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet, including the New York–Singapore sector on this route. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members. The service is designed for messaging, email, and basic browsing, and does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the New York–Singapore sector operated by the Airbus A350-900, Premium Economy Class offers a 38-inch seat pitch with up to 20-inch seat width, and Business Class provides a fully flat bed with direct aisle access at every seat. On the Singapore–Penang sector on the Boeing 737-8 MAX, Economy Class offers around a 32-inch seat pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, and Business Class features a fully flat bed–style seat or deep-recline seat with generous personal space, depending on configuration.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from New York but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

Singapore Changi Airport offers a wide range of facilities, from indoor gardens and art installations to quiet rest areas and transit hotels, making it easy to stay airside between your New York and Penang flights. If your layover is at least around 5.5 to 6 hours, you may also have time to join an official transit tour into the city, subject to programme availability and entry requirements. Shorter connections are best spent enjoying the airport's amenities, including dining, shopping, and relaxation spaces. Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Penang is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
