For flights between Chengdu and Male, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are: Economy Class (25kg for Lite and Value fares, 30kg for Standard and Flexi fares), Premium Economy Class (35kg on the Singapore–Male sector), and Business Class (40kg on both sectors). Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. Cabin baggage allowances are: Economy Class and Premium Economy Class (1 piece up to 7kg), and Business Class (2 pieces, each up to 7kg). Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Chengdu to Male once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the Chengdu–Singapore sector operated by the Boeing 787-10, Economy Class seats offer a 32-inch pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, and Business Class features a fully flat bed with direct aisle access. On the Singapore–Male sector operated by the Airbus A350-900, Economy Class offers similar comfort with a 32-inch pitch and up to 19-inch seat width, Premium Economy Class provides a 38-inch pitch and up to 20-inch seat width, and Business Class offers a fully flat bed with direct aisle access.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available. Eligible passengers may use lounges such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on cabin and status.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Chengdu but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

If you have a longer layover at Singapore Changi Airport, you can consider joining an official transit tour, which generally requires at least 5.5 to 6 hours between flights. These tours give you a curated glimpse of the city before you continue to Male. For shorter connections, it is best to stay airside and enjoy the airport's facilities, such as indoor gardens, quiet zones, rest areas, and a wide choice of dining and shopping. Airport hotels and nap spaces are also available if you would like to rest in privacy. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Chengdu follows China Standard Time (UTC+8) all year round and does not observe daylight saving time. Male follows Maldives Time (UTC+5), also without daylight saving time. This means Male is 3 hours behind Chengdu throughout the year; for example, when it is 12.00 noon in Chengdu, it is 9.00am in Male.

Yes, your baggage will typically be checked through to Velana International Airport in Male when flying from Chengdu via Singapore on a single booking with Singapore Airlines.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Chengdu–Singapore and Singapore–Male) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Male is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
