For flights between Chengdu and Medan, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are: Economy Class (Lite and Value fares: 25kg; Standard and Flexi: 30kg) and Business Class (40kg). Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. Cabin baggage allowances are: Economy Class (1 piece up to 7kg) and Business Class (2 pieces, each up to 7kg). Your final baggage allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Chengdu to Medan once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members, although Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members must add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The service is ideal for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On both the Chengdu to Singapore and Singapore to Medan sectors, Economy Class offers a 32-inch pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, providing comfortable legroom for the journey. Business Class features a fully flat bed on each sector, with every seat offering direct aisle access for ease and privacy.

Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Chengdu but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

If you have a longer layover at Singapore Changi Airport, you can join one of the official free transit tours into the city, which typically require a minimum layover of about 5.5 to 6 hours. These tours let you see key highlights while still keeping your connection stress-free.

For shorter layovers, staying airside is very comfortable, with themed gardens, rest areas, entertainment zones, and in-terminal attractions that help the time pass quickly. You can also enjoy showers, quiet seating, and a wide choice of dining and shopping options.

If you prefer to rest, consider spending time in a transit hotel or designated relaxation areas within the terminals. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Chengdu follows China Standard Time (UTC+8) and does not observe daylight saving time. Medan follows Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7), also without daylight saving time. This means Medan is 1 hour behind Chengdu throughout the year.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Chengdu–Singapore and Singapore–Medan) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Medan is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
