For flights between Colombo and Kuala Lumpur, our baggage policy follows the weight concept. In Economy Class, the checked baggage allowance is 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. In Business Class, the checked baggage allowance is 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class passengers may bring one piece up to 7kg, while Business Class passengers may bring two pieces, each up to 7kg. The final allowance applicable to your trip is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members have additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Colombo to Kuala Lumpur once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Business Class passengers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Colombo but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only. Eligible passengers may be invited to the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge in Singapore.

Singapore Changi Airport offers extensive facilities that make layovers comfortable and enjoyable. If you have at least 5.5 to 6 hours between flights and meet the programme conditions, you can join a free transit tour to see highlights of Singapore before returning to the airport. For shorter layovers, you can relax in themed gardens, rest zones, entertainment areas, or transit hotels located within the terminals. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Colombo follows Sri Lanka Standard Time, which is UTC+5:30 and does not observe daylight saving time. Kuala Lumpur follows Malaysia Time, which is UTC+8:00 and also does not observe daylight saving time. Kuala Lumpur is therefore 2 hours 30 minutes ahead of Colombo throughout the year.

Yes, your baggage will typically be checked through to Kuala Lumpur when flying from Colombo via Singapore on a single booking with Singapore Airlines.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Colombo–Singapore and Singapore–Kuala Lumpur) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
