Throughout the flight, you can enjoy a selection of hot and cold drinks, including juices, soft drinks, teas, and coffees. Our signature Singapore Sling is also available on board.

For flights between Beijing and Zurich, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are: Economy Class (Lite and Value fares: 25kg; Standard and Flexi: 30kg), Premium Economy Class (35kg), Business Class (40kg), and First Class (50kg). Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. Cabin baggage allowances are: Economy Class and Premium Economy Class (1 piece up to 7kg), and First Class and Business Class (2 pieces, each up to 7kg). Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Beijing to Zurich once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members, with Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members needing to add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase a plan, which is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On sectors where Economy Class is offered, you can expect a seat pitch of about 32 inches and up to 19 inches of seat width. Premium Economy Class, available on selected Beijing to Singapore flights and on the Singapore to Zurich sector, provides around a 38-inch pitch and up to 20 inches of width. Business Class features a fully flat bed with direct aisle access on all aircraft types used. First Class, available on the Boeing 777-300ER services between Beijing or Singapore and Zurich, also offers a spacious fully flat bed.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The Next Segment Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Beijing but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only. In Singapore (SIN), eligible customers may be invited to The Private Room, SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on their cabin and status.

Singapore Changi Airport is well suited to both short and longer layovers on your journey between Beijing and Zurich. If you have at least around 5.5 to 6 hours, you can consider joining an official transit tour to see highlights of the city without handling your checked baggage. For shorter layovers, you can stay airside and explore gardens, rest zones, and a wide variety of dining options across the terminals. There are also snooze areas and airport hotels if you prefer a quiet rest between flights. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Beijing follows China Standard Time, which is UTC+8 all year and does not observe daylight saving time. Zurich follows Central European Time (UTC+1) roughly from late October to late March, and Central European Summer Time (UTC+2) from late March to late October. This means Zurich is normally 7 hours behind Beijing in winter and 6 hours behind in summer.

Yes, your baggage will typically be checked through to Zurich Airport when flying from Beijing via Singapore on a single booking with Singapore Airlines.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Beijing–Singapore and Singapore–Zurich) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Zurich is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.

You may be able to plan a stopover in Singapore on your Beijing–Zurich trip, subject to your ticket conditions and availability.
