Beverage Service
A selection of hot and cold drinks is available throughout the flight, including juices, soft drinks, tea, and coffee. Our signature Singapore Sling is also available on board, adding a distinctive touch to your journey.

For flights between Cape Town and Xiamen, our weight-concept policy applies. In Economy Class, checked baggage allowances are 25kg for Lite and Value fares, and 30kg for Standard and Flexi fares. In Premium Economy Class, the checked baggage allowance is 35kg, and in Business Class it is 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class customers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your exact allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines services once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the Airbus A350-900 sectors between Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Singapore, Economy Class seats offer a 32-inch pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, Premium Economy Class provides a 38-inch pitch with up to 20-inch seat width, and Business Class features a fully flat bed with direct aisle access. On the Boeing 737-8 MAX between Singapore and Xiamen, Economy Class has similar ergonomically designed seating, and Business Class offers a fully flat bed, helping you stay comfortable on the final part of your journey.

Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Johannesburg. Eligible customers may be able to use South African Airways The Lounge (Premium). Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Cape Town follows South Africa Standard Time, which is UTC+2 all year and does not observe daylight saving time. Xiamen follows China Standard Time, which is UTC+8 and also does not use daylight saving time. Xiamen is therefore 6 hours ahead of Cape Town throughout the year.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Cape Town–Johannesburg and Johannesburg–Singapore and Singapore–Xiamen) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connections in Johannesburg and Singapore must each be less than 24 hours. If any layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If any onward flight from Johannesburg or Singapore to Xiamen is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
