Beverage Service
A selection of hot and cold drinks, including juices, soft drinks, tea, and coffee, is available throughout the flight. Our signature Singapore Sling is also available on board if you would like a distinctive taste of our heritage while you fly.

For flights between Rome and San Francisco, the piece concept applies. For checked baggage, Economy Class customers may take 2 pieces, each up to 23kg; Premium Economy Class customers 2 pieces, each up to 23kg; and Business Class customers 2 pieces, each up to 32kg. Each individual piece must not exceed 32kg. For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class customers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. The final allowance for your trip is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Rome to San Francisco once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers should ensure their membership number is added to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans on board. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

Both the Rome–Singapore and Singapore–San Francisco sectors are operated by the Airbus A350-900. In Economy Class, you can expect a seat pitch of about 32 inches and up to 19 inches of seat width. Premium Economy Class offers a seat pitch of about 38 inches and up to 20 inches of seat width. In Business Class, you will have a fully flat bed with direct aisle access from every seat, giving you more personal space to work or rest throughout the journey.

On the Rome–San Francisco route, both Airbus A350-900 sectors feature our KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system. You can choose from a wide selection of films, TV series, music, and games on your personal screen, with noise-reducing headphones provided. Content is updated regularly, so there is always something new to discover on board.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

With a layover at Singapore Changi Airport, you can enjoy one of the most comfortable transit experiences in the world. For longer layovers, you may join an official transit programme into the city if time permits, typically requiring at least 5.5 to 6 hours between flights. For shorter stays, explore Changi Airport’s themed gardens, relaxation zones, and complimentary rest areas, or freshen up at facilities such as transit hotels and shower rooms. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait – it is an integral part of your journey.

When departing from Rome Fiumicino (FCO), eligible Singapore Airlines customers may be invited to use the Plaza Premium Lounge, depending on their cabin class and frequent flyer status. Lounge admission is based on our current access policy at the time of travel.

During your layover at Singapore Changi Airport, eligible customers travelling on Singapore Airlines may be able to access the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on their class of travel and KrisFlyer or Star Alliance status. Access is determined by the onward flight from Singapore.

San Francisco is in Pacific Time (UTC−8), changing to Pacific Daylight Time (UTC−7) from roughly March to early November. This means that from late March to late October, San Francisco is typically 9 hours behind Rome, and during the rest of the year it is usually 9 or 10 hours behind depending on the exact overlap of seasonal changes.
