Throughout the journey, a variety of hot and cold drinks is available, including juices, soft drinks, tea, and coffee. Our signature Singapore Sling is also available on board across cabins.

For flights between Shanghai and Osaka, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are as follows: Economy Class passengers may check 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. Premium Economy Class passengers may check 35kg. Business Class passengers may check 40kg, and First Class passengers may check 50kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class and First Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members have additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights between Shanghai and Osaka once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class passengers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the Shanghai–Singapore sector, Economy Class seats typically offer a 32-inch pitch and up to 19-inch seat width. Premium Economy Class, available on selected Boeing 777-300ER services, offers a 38-inch pitch and up to 20-inch seat width. Business Class provides a fully flat bed with direct aisle access, and First Class on the Boeing 777-300ER offers a fully flat bed in a spacious suite-style seat.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Shanghai but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

Singapore Changi Airport offers a wide range of amenities, from themed gardens and quiet rest areas to family zones and swimming facilities, making it easy to relax between your Shanghai and Osaka flights. If you have a longer layover, you can consider joining an official transit tour into the city, usually available when you have at least around 5.5 to 6 hours between flights, subject to programme conditions. Shorter layovers are best enjoyed airside, where you can explore art installations, indoor greenery, and comfortable seating.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Shanghai–Singapore and Singapore–Osaka) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Osaka is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
