19 July 2025
Singapore Airlines (SIA) is opening the doors of its training centre to almost 900 guests at its third SIA Cares Open House this weekend. These guests include youth-at-risk, persons from disadvantaged backgrounds, and individuals with disabilities and developmental needs, along with their caregivers from 33 Singapore-based social service agencies.
For the first time, SIA has expanded the event to span two days, on 19th and 20th July 2025, as part of the SG60 celebrations marking Singapore’s 60 years of independence.
During the two-hour tour of the SIA Training Centre, participants will meet SIA pilots, cabin crew, and engineers to learn about the training that they undergo, understand how flight training simulators work, and visit the Airline’s safety training facilities. Beneficiaries and their caregivers will explore a special SG60 and SIA heritage showcase and engage with a digital interactive installation on Singapore’s nation-building journey. The tour will conclude with the participants enjoying a selection of the Airline's in-flight meals.
Over 650 Singapore-based SIA Group staff volunteered to organise the Open House and guide guests through the tour, joined by corporate partners who contributed to the SG60 SIA Cares fundraising campaign. This reflects SIA’s commitment to mobilising the wider community in support of meaningful causes.
The Open House forms part of the month-long global SIA Cares Around the World campaign, which includes an additional 60 cities across the SIA Group network with more than 1,000 overseas-based staff engaged in various community activities.
Mr Goh Choon Phong, Chief Executive Officer, Singapore Airlines, said: “Opening our doors to almost 900 guests, and bringing them on an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour, allows us to engage and share the wonders of aviation with them. It is a joy to see their faces light up as they learn about flight simulators, try out cabin service procedures, and interact with our pilots, cabin crew, and engineers.
“This spirit of giving also extends to our corporate partners, who we rallied to join us in this meaningful cause. Their strong support and active involvement have amplified our collective impact.
"I am very proud of the Singapore Airlines teams, who have made difference over the past month in 60 cities across our global network beyond Singapore. The enthusiasm and dedication of our volunteers reflects SIA’s long-standing commitment to giving back to communities that have supported us throughout our journey.”

SG60 SIA CARES OPEN HOUSE
AND SIA CARES AROUND THE WORLD CAMPAIGN
SG60 SIA Cares Open House Tour Highlights
Explore SIA’s Heritage: Almost 900 guests from 33 social service agencies and their caregivers will take a journey back in time and explore over 75 years of SIA’s heritage. The heritage tour also includes a special SG60 showcase to celebrate the collective spirit of innovation and ambition that has shaped both SIA and Singapore. Participants will have the opportunity to build their vision of Singapore at the Building Our Singapore Together interactive magnetic wall and engage in a digital interactive installation.
Admire the Dendrobium Singapore Girl Orchid: The SIA Training Centre will showcase the Dendrobium Singapore Girl orchid, a bloom specially cultivated in 1997 in celebration of SIA’s 50th anniversary. While the Vanda Miss Joaquim is Singapore's national flower, this Dendrobium Singapore Girl orchid holds special significance in SIA's heritage and will be prominently displayed at the cabin mock-up area for guests to view.
Learn More about SIA’s Training Facilities: SIA’s pilots, cabin crew, and engineers will take these individuals through an exclusive look into what it takes to fly and serve in the skies. The tour features SIA’s cabin products, flight simulators, and how training for safety and emergency procedures are conducted.
Meet the SIA Family: Participants will have the opportunity to interact and take photos with SIA’s cabin crew, pilots, and engineers.
Satisfy In-flight Cravings: Participants can enjoy meals from the Airline’s in-flight selection, including SIA’s signature satay, grilled chicken in tomato basil sauce with pasta, Korean bulgogi mushroom and tofu, and the event-exclusive nasi goreng with ayam masak tiram.
