Eligible Business Class customers on the long-haul sectors via Singapore may be able to pre-select main courses from our Book the Cook service, subject to availability and route conditions.

Beverage Service
A selection of hot and cold drinks is available throughout the flight, including juices, soft drinks, tea, and coffee. Our signature Singapore Sling is also served on board.

For flights between Chengdu and Osaka, our weight-concept baggage policy applies. In Economy Class, checked baggage allowances are 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. Business Class customers enjoy 40kg of checked baggage. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class customers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg. Business Class customers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Chengdu to Osaka once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Business Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans on board. The service supports messaging, email, and basic browsing, but does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On both the Chengdu–Singapore and Singapore–Osaka sectors operated by the Boeing 787-10, Economy Class offers a seat pitch of 32 inches, with up to 19 inches of seat width. Business Class provides a fully flat bed with direct aisle access from every seat, giving you more personal space to rest.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Chengdu but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

At Singapore Changi Airport, longer layovers can include a complimentary city tour if you meet the minimum connection time, typically around 5.5 to 6 hours between flights and subject to programme conditions. This lets you see key highlights before returning to the terminal.

For shorter layovers, stay airside and enjoy Changi Airport’s amenities, including themed gardens, rest zones, family areas, and art displays. You can also refresh with a shower facility or relax at an airport hotel within the terminals.

Chengdu follows China Standard Time (UTC+8) all year, without daylight saving time. Osaka follows Japan Standard Time (UTC+9), also without daylight saving time. Osaka is therefore 1 hour ahead of Chengdu throughout the year.

Yes, your baggage will typically be checked through to Osaka when flying from Chengdu via Singapore on a single booking with Singapore Airlines.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Chengdu–Singapore and Singapore–Osaka) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Osaka is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.

You may be able to plan a stopover in Singapore on your Chengdu–Osaka trip, subject to your ticket conditions and availability.
