For flights between Chengdu and Colombo, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are: Economy Class (25kg for Lite/Value fares, 30kg for Standard/Flexi), and Business Class (40kg). Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. Cabin baggage allowances are: Economy Class (1 piece up to 7kg), and Business Class (2 pieces, each up to 7kg). Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights on this route once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On both the Chengdu to Singapore Boeing 787-10 sector and the Singapore to Colombo Airbus A350-900 sector, Economy Class seats offer a 32-inch pitch and up to 19-inch seat width. Business Class provides a fully flat bed with direct aisle access on each aircraft, giving you space to work, dine, or rest comfortably.

Eligible customers may be able to access facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge at Singapore Changi Airport, depending on cabin class and tier.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Chengdu but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

If you have a longer connection at Singapore Changi Airport, you can consider joining the airport’s official transit tour, which usually requires a minimum layover of around 5.5 hours, allowing enough time to leave the transit area and explore highlights of the city. This can add a memorable mini-excursion to your journey.

For shorter layovers, staying airside is comfortable and efficient. Changi Airport offers themed gardens, quiet rest zones, play areas, and in some terminals facilities such as a swimming pool, cinema, and transit hotel, so you can choose to relax, refresh, or stretch your legs between flights.

Chengdu operates on China Standard Time (UTC+8) all year, without daylight saving. Colombo uses Sri Lanka Standard Time (UTC+5:30), also without daylight saving. Colombo is therefore 2 hours 30 minutes behind Chengdu throughout the year.

Yes, your baggage will typically be checked through to Bandaranaike International Airport (Colombo) when flying from Chengdu via Singapore on a single booking with Singapore Airlines.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Chengdu–Singapore and Singapore–Colombo) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Colombo is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
