For flights between Mumbai and Shenzhen, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are: Economy Class (Lite and Value fares: 25kg; Standard and Flexi: 30kg), Premium Economy Class (35kg), Business Class (40kg), and Suites (50kg). Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class guests may bring 1 piece up to 7kg. Suites and Business Class guests may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on most Singapore Airlines services from Mumbai to Shenzhen once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure.

Non-members can purchase access plans on board. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Eligible customers may use facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), and the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge during their transit, depending on cabin and status.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Mumbai but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

Singapore Changi Airport offers a wide range of facilities, including themed gardens, quiet rest zones, play areas, and walking trails inside the terminals, which are ideal for shorter layovers. You can also enjoy shopping and dining in comfortable, air-conditioned surroundings.

For longer layovers of at least about 5.5 to 6 hours, you can consider joining one of the airport’s city transit tour programmes, subject to eligibility and timing, to see some highlights of Singapore before returning for your onward flight.

If you prefer to stay airside, airport hotels and rest areas allow you to freshen up or sleep between flights. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Mumbai follows India Standard Time (IST), which is UTC+5:30 and does not observe daylight saving time. Shenzhen follows China Standard Time (CST), which is UTC+8 and also does not observe daylight saving time. Shenzhen is therefore 2 hours 30 minutes ahead of Mumbai throughout the year.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Mumbai–Singapore and Singapore–Shenzhen) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Shenzhen is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
