For flights between Chengdu and Chennai, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are as follows: Economy Class passengers may check 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. Business Class passengers may check up to 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. For cabin baggage, Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights on this route once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class members must add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The service is ideal for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On both the Chengdu–Singapore and Singapore–Chennai sectors, Economy Class seats offer a 32-inch pitch and up to 19-inch seat width for comfortable legroom. The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Chengdu but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

In Singapore (SIN), eligible customers may be invited to use facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.

Singapore Changi Airport offers a wide range of facilities, including indoor gardens, themed rest areas, children’s play zones, and quiet corners for work or relaxation, making it easy to stay airside between flights. For shorter layovers, you can explore these amenities, enjoy a meal, or freshen up at airport rest areas.

If your layover is longer, you may be able to join the airport’s official transit city tour, which typically requires a minimum of around 5.5 to 6 hours between flights, subject to eligibility and schedule. This allows you to see selected highlights of Singapore before returning in time for your onward flight.

Chengdu follows China Standard Time, which is UTC+8 throughout the year with no daylight saving time. Chennai follows India Standard Time, which is UTC+5:30, also without daylight saving time. Chengdu is therefore 2 hours 30 minutes ahead of Chennai at all times of the year.
