For flights between Sydney and Jakarta, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are: Economy Class (Lite and Value fares: 25kg; Standard and Flexi: 30kg), Premium Economy Class (35kg), Business Class (40kg), and First Class or Suites (50kg). Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. Cabin baggage allowances are: Economy Class and Premium Economy Class (1 piece up to 7kg), and Business Class, First Class, and Suites (2 pieces, each up to 7kg). Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members have additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on most Singapore Airlines flights from Sydney to Jakarta once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On both the Sydney–Singapore and Singapore–Jakarta sectors, Economy Class offers a seat pitch of about 32 inches, with up to 19 inches of seat width. Premium Economy Class provides around 38 inches of pitch and up to 20 inches of width. Business Class features a fully flat bed with direct aisle access. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The Next Segment Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Sydney but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only. Eligible passengers may be invited to The Private Room, SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on cabin and status.

With a layover at Singapore Changi Airport, you can enjoy gardens, art installations, and quiet zones directly in the terminals. For longer connections, you may join an official transit tour into the city, which typically requires at least a 5.5-hour layover to allow for immigration and travel time. Shorter layovers are well spent exploring themed gardens, relaxation areas, or airport hotels and lounges airside. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Sydney operates on Australian Eastern Standard Time (UTC+10) from around April to early October, and Australian Eastern Daylight Time (UTC+11) from early October to early April. Jakarta follows Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7) year-round. This means Jakarta is 3 hours behind Sydney during AEST, and 4 hours behind during AEDT.

Yes, your baggage will typically be checked through to Jakarta when flying from Sydney via Singapore on a single booking with Singapore Airlines.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Sydney–Singapore and Singapore–Jakarta) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Jakarta is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
