For flights between Kathmandu and Chennai, our weight concept applies. For checked baggage, Economy Class customers may check 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. Business Class customers may check up to 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class customers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class customers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. The exact allowance for your trip is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. Wi-Fi is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class members must add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members.

The connection is ideal for messaging, email, and basic browsing. It does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers, so we recommend planning any data-heavy tasks for before or after your flight.

On the Boeing 737-8 MAX operating both sectors of this route, Economy Class offers a seat pitch of about 32 inches and up to 19 inches of seat width, giving you comfortable legroom for the journey. Business Class provides a fully flat bed on this aircraft, with direct aisle access from each seat for added privacy and ease of movement.

On the Kathmandu–Singapore and Singapore–Chennai sectors, Singapore Airlines operates the Boeing 737-8 MAX with two cabin classes. You can choose Business Class for a more spacious seat that converts into a fully flat bed, or Economy Class for comfortable seating with personal entertainment and warm service.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

With a layover at Singapore Changi Airport, you can enjoy gardens, art installations, and quiet rest areas without leaving the terminal. For longer layovers, you may wish to join an official transit tour into the city, which usually requires at least 5.5 to 6 hours between flights.

If you prefer to stay airside, Changi Airport offers a wide choice of dining, shopping, and relaxation spaces, including snooze areas and entertainment zones. Whatever you choose, your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait - it is an integral part of your journey.

At Kathmandu Airport, eligible Singapore Airlines customers may be invited to use the Horizon Lounge before departure. Lounge access depends on your cabin class and frequent flyer status, so please refer to your booking or ask our airport staff to confirm your entitlements.

During your transit at Singapore Changi Airport, eligible passengers may be able to use the SilverKris Lounge First Class, the SilverKris Lounge Business Class, or the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on cabin class and frequent flyer status. Access is determined by the details of your onward Singapore Airlines or partner-operated flight.

Kathmandu follows Nepal Time, which is UTC+5:45 year-round. Chennai follows India Standard Time, which is UTC+5:30 year-round. This means Kathmandu is 15 minutes ahead of Chennai at all times, so when it is 12.00pm in Chennai, it is 12.15pm in Kathmandu.

When you arrive in Chennai from Kathmandu via Singapore, you will complete arrival procedures at Chennai International Airport. Follow signs for immigration, baggage reclaim, and customs. Once outside, you will find clearly marked options for city transport. If you have another domestic flight, follow the transfer signs and allow extra time.

Visa requirements depend on your nationality and travel purpose. We recommend checking the latest entry regulations with the relevant authorities or your local consulate before you travel, as rules can change. Make sure your passport, visa, and any supporting documents are in order before your departure from Kathmandu.

For international departures from Kathmandu to Chennai via Singapore, we recommend arriving at the airport at least 3 hours before your scheduled departure time. This gives you enough time for check-in, security screening, and immigration, as well as time to relax before boarding.

If your Kathmandu to Chennai journey is on a single Singapore Airlines or partner ticket, we will usually check your bags through to Chennai at Kathmandu Airport. Your baggage tag and boarding passes will show this. If you have separate tickets, please confirm through-checking with our staff at check-in.
