Why visit Sri Lanka?

Sri Lanka offers golden beaches, misty tea country, ancient cities, and wildlife-rich national parks in a compact island setting. You can experience culture, nature, and coast in a single trip.

Plan your trip

Sri Lanka is ideal for combining city, heritage, and nature in one itinerary, whether you stay a week or longer. It also serves as a gateway for wider South Asian adventures with strong regional connections from Colombo.

Best time to visit Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka’s weather varies by region, but you can travel year-round by choosing your coast. The main west and south coast dry period runs roughly from December to March, when Colombo and Galle often see daytime temperatures around 27–30°C (81–86°F); this is generally the peak season. April, and September to early November, often bring mixed sunshine and showers across different regions, with temperatures around 26–30°C (79–86°F); these months are usually a shoulder season, ideal if you prefer fewer crowds. May to August tends to bring more rain to the south-west of the island but drier weather to the east coast, with warm temperatures of 27–31°C (81–88°F); depending on where you go, this can feel like a shoulder season or low season.
