For flights between Christchurch and Guangzhou, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are: Economy Class (25kg for Lite/Value fares, 30kg for Standard/Flexi), Premium Economy Class (35kg), and Business Class (40kg). Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. Cabin baggage allowances are: Economy Class and Premium Economy Class (1 piece up to 7kg), and Business Class (2 pieces, each up to 7kg). The final allowance for your trip is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights on this route once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the Christchurch to Singapore sector, Economy Class seats offer a 32-inch pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, Premium Economy Class provides a 38-inch pitch with up to 20-inch seat width, and Business Class features a fully flat bed with direct aisle access. Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The Next Segment Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Christchurch but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only. Eligible customers may use the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge at Singapore (SIN), depending on their cabin and status.

At Singapore Changi Airport, longer layovers can be spent joining the official free transit tour into the city, which usually requires a minimum layover of around 5.5 to 6 hours. This lets you see highlights of Singapore before returning to the airport for your onward flight. For shorter layovers, you can enjoy Changi Airport’s indoor gardens, quiet rest areas, and relaxation zones, or freshen up at pay-per-use lounges and airport hotels within the terminals. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Christchurch follows New Zealand Standard Time (UTC+12) and New Zealand Daylight Time (UTC+13) from roughly late September to early April. Guangzhou follows China Standard Time (UTC+8) year-round. Guangzhou is usually 4 hours behind Christchurch in winter, and 5 hours behind when Christchurch is on daylight saving time.
