For flights between Shanghai and Rome, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are: Economy Class (Lite and Value fares: 25kg; Standard and Flexi: 30kg), Premium Economy Class (35kg), Business Class (40kg), and First Class (50kg) on sectors where these cabins are offered. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. Cabin baggage allowances are: Economy Class and Premium Economy Class (1 piece, up to 7kg), and Business Class and First Class (2 pieces, each up to 7kg), according to the cabin on each sector. Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Shanghai to Rome once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members, with Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers required to add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase paid plans on board. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Shanghai but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only. In Singapore (SIN), eligible passengers may use facilities such as The Private Room, SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), and the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.

Singapore Changi Airport is well suited to both short and longer layovers, with themed gardens, rest areas, and family-friendly facilities spread across the terminals. For layovers of at least about 5.5 to 6 hours, you may be able to join an official transit tour that takes you into the city, subject to eligibility and schedule. If you prefer to stay airside, you can enjoy quiet zones, dining choices, and, in some terminals, attractions such as indoor gardens or play areas. Rome uses Central European Time (UTC+1) in roughly late October to late March, and Central European Summer Time (UTC+2) from late March to late October.
