AIG offers special rates on travel insurance to Singapore Airlines passengers. The insurance premiums are calculated based on a number of factors, including your destination and trip duration.

 

Travelling with an infant? If you arrange travel insurance through singaporeair.com, your child above 3 months and under 2 years of age and sharing a single airline seat with an adult passenger will be covered for free!


Policy Wording and Summary of Benefits

If you are purchasing a new policy, we have amended the AIG travel insurance policy to cover certain situations pertaining to COVID-19. Full terms, conditions and exclusions can be found here.



Benefit Covered Conditions
Medical Expenses & Emergency Medical Evacuation & Repatriation of Remains Medical Expenses & Emergency Medical Evacuation & Repatriation of Remains if you contract COVID-19 while traveling internationally (up to € 200.000).
Trip Cancellation Trip Cancellation for non-refundable travel and or accommodation expenses (up to € 5.000) if:

  • you or a relative contract COVID-19 before your scheduled trip departure date
  • the school year is extended beyond the departure date, and you or a relative is/are a full-time teacher, full-time employee, or a student at a primary or secondary school
  • you fail a COVID-19 related test or a medical screening at the airport and as a result are required to abandon your trip.
Trip Curtailment Trip Curtailment of up to € 5.000 for non-refundable trip costs and additional travel expenses to return to your country of residence if you or a relative contract COVID-19 while traveling internationally.
Out-of-country COVID-19 Diagnosis Quarantine Allowance Up to € 120 /day/person for up to 14 consecutive days if while on a journey, you test positive for COVID-19, and as a result are unexpectedly placed into mandatory quarantine outside your country of residence.


How to file an insurance claim

Passengers may file a claim by submitting a completed claim form with supporting documents. To request a claim form please contact our claims department using the details below:

For COVID-19 related claims, please prepare the following documents:


Medical Expenses & Emergency Medical Evacuation & Repatriation of Remains / Out-of-country COVID-19 Diagnosis Quarantine Allowance

  • Original hospital / medical bill(s) / receipt(s) / medical report stating diagnosis and the date of the injury/sickness commenced certified by a qualified medical practitioner
  • Letter of referral from general practitioner for the medical treatment conducted by specialists, physiotherapists, etc.

 

Reimbursement of Trip Cancellation / Trip Curtailment

  • Copy of original itinerary
  • Documentation confirming trip cancellation
  • Documentation confirming non-refundable/refunded amount
  • Original receipt(s) showing any pre-paid costs or deposits made OR additional travel and/or accommodation expenses incurred after the commencement of the insured journey
  • Medical certificate indicating diagnosis and reason that the insured is unfit for travel, if applicable
  • Death certificate, if applicable
  • Proof of relationship to the insured, if applicable
