Book the Cook
Eligible passengers in selected cabins can pre-order from our Book the Cook service on the Amsterdam–Singapore sector, choosing from an extended menu prepared specially for you. This allows you to personalise your dining experience before you travel.

Beverage Service
Throughout your journey, a selection of hot and cold beverages is available, including juices, soft drinks, tea, coffee, and a range of alcoholic beverages. Our signature Singapore Sling is also available on board.

For flights between Amsterdam and Surabaya, our weight-concept baggage policy applies. For checked baggage, Economy Class guests may bring 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. Premium Economy Class guests may bring 35kg, and Business Class guests may bring 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class guests may bring 1 piece up to 7kg. Business Class guests may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. The final baggage allowance for your journey will be shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members are entitled to additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the Amsterdam to Singapore sector, operated by the Airbus A350-900, Economy Class offers a seat pitch of about 32 inches with up to 19 inches of seat width, Premium Economy Class offers around 38 inches of pitch with up to 20 inches of width, and Business Class features a fully flat bed with direct aisle access.

On the Singapore to Surabaya sector, also operated by the Airbus A350-900, Economy Class provides the same comfortable 32-inch pitch and up to 19-inch seat width, while Business Class offers spacious fully flat beds with direct aisle access, helping you arrive rested after the regional flight.

On both the Amsterdam–Singapore and Singapore–Surabaya sectors, you can enjoy our KrisWorld entertainment system, available on personal screens at every seat. We offer a wide selection of films, TV shows, music, and games, as well as destination information, so you can tailor your experience throughout the journey.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

At Singapore Changi Airport, longer layovers can be spent joining the official free transit tour into the city, which usually requires at least about 5.5 to 6 hours between flights. For shorter connections, you can stay airside and explore gardens, rest areas, children’s zones, and swimming or spa facilities. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

At Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, eligible Singapore Airlines passengers may be invited to use partner facilities such as Swissport Aspire Lounge 41 or Privium Lounge, depending on cabin class and frequent flyer status. Lounge access is determined by your departing flight from Amsterdam and your travel credentials at check-in.

During your layover at Singapore Changi Airport, eligible passengers may access facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge. Access depends on your class of travel and KrisFlyer or Star Alliance status on the flight departing Singapore.

Amsterdam is in the Central European Time zone, which is UTC+1 in winter and UTC+2 during daylight saving time, usually from late March to late October. Surabaya follows Western Indonesia Time at UTC+7 all year. This means Surabaya is 6 hours ahead of Amsterdam in winter, and 5 hours ahead in summer.

Most Amsterdam–Surabaya itineraries connect in the same terminal area at Singapore Changi Airport, with clear signs directing you to your next gate. You typically do not need to collect checked baggage in Singapore, as it is tagged through to Surabaya. Always check the monitors and your boarding pass for the latest gate information.

For long-haul journeys from Amsterdam to Surabaya via Singapore, we recommend arriving at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol at least 3 hours before departure. This allows sufficient time for check-in, security checks, and reaching the gate at a comfortable pace.

Surabaya is warm and humid year-round, so lightweight, breathable clothing and comfortable walking shoes are useful.
