Retrieving of strollers at destination​

Please check with the ground staff upon arrival for assistance on stroller retrieval. ​

Please note that retrieval at the aerobridge is not available for the following destination:                          Adelaide, Ahmedabad, Bandung, Chongqing, Copenhagen, Darwin, Dhaka, Kochi, Malé, Perth.​

Special regulations for France, Italy, The Republic of Philippines, South Africa and Vietnam

To protect the safety of children, certain countries require you to prepare additional documents when you are travelling with a child.

Flying from France

French residents—regardless of nationality—under 18 years old who are flying from France without his or her parents or legal guardians will need to provide the following documents:

  • A valid passport in the passenger’s name
  • Exit territory authorisation form signed by the passenger’s parent or legal guardian
  • A photocopy of a valid identity document of the parent or legal guardian who signed the exit territory authorisation form
     
Flying from Italy

Nationals of Italy below 14 years old, who are unaccompanied or accompanied by someone other than the parent/guardian stated on page five of the minor’s passport, are required to have an authorisation form (Dichiarazione di Accompagnamento) signed by both parents and issued by the local police, when traveling to or from Italy.

If the passenger’s parents reside abroad, the authorisation form must be issued by an Italian embassy or consulate.

If the passenger is traveling from Italy, his or her parents/guardians may submit the travel authorisation request online through here.

Flying from The Republic of Philippines

All passengers under the age of 18 who are travelling into or out of the Philippines must provide additional documents.

Flying into or out of South Africa

All passengers under the age of 18 who are travelling into or out of South Africa must provide additional documents.

Flying from Vietnam

Nationals of Vietnam below 14 years old must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardian, when travelling from Vietnam. If the accompanying person is not the minor’s parent or legal guardian, they are required to produce a letter of authorisation signed by the parents or legal guardian. Cabin stroller requirements

You can carry a compact, foldable lightweight stroller on board the cabin if it meets the requirements below. The stroller will be regarded as one piece of cabin baggage, and will count towards your cabin baggage allowance.

  • Less than 7kg, and sum of length, width and height should not exceed 115cm.
  • Must be able to be stored in the cabin overhead compartment
  • Must be properly packed in a suitable bag prior to boarding, remain folded, and unused in the aircraft cabin throughout the flight.


Singapore Airlines reserves the right to reject strollers that are not appropriately packed. If your stroller does not meet the requirements or if there is no space in the cabin, it will be gate-tagged. Please check with the ground staff on the stroller retrieval location upon arrival.​​

Please note that retrieval at the aerobridge is not available for selected destinations. 

Checking in and collection of stroller

If you have checked in your stroller at the counter, it will be available for pickup at the baggage belt. ​

If you are a passenger with connecting flights:​

  • Please confirm if your stroller is checked through to your final destination at the check-in counter​
  • Please retrieve your stroller upon arrival at the aerobridge during transit if it was gate-tagged

 

Please check with the ground staff after disembarkation if you require any assistance. ​

Inflight convertible bed requirements

If you’ve purchased a separate passenger seat for your child, you’re welcome to bring your own inflatable flight cushion or convertible gadget to turn your child’s seat into a bed.

Just be sure to pick a window seat or the middle seat in the centre section—and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use.

You must also meet the following requirements:

  • Your child must be able to fasten the seatbelt under his or her arm when using the inflight bed.
  • If your child is under two years of age, he or she must be removed from the convertible inflight bed and secured with an infant seatbelt whenever the seatbelt sign is switched on.
  • Convertible inflight beds must be packed and securely stowed in the overhead compartment or under the seat in front during taxi, take-off and landing.
  • Convertible inflight beds cannot be used at the emergency exit rows.
  • Convertible inflight beds must not interfere with or prevent the seat in front from reclining.
  • Convertible inflight beds must not damage the aircraft seat if they need to be attached to any part of the seat.
  • Convertible inflight beds should not exceed a total dimension of 115cm (when the length, width and height of the fully deployed bed is combined), and will be counted as part of your cabin baggage allowance.
  • Convertible inflight beds cannot be combined so as to allow two or more convertible inflight beds to occupy several seats.
     

Child car seat and harness requirements

Approved child harnesses or child car seats may be used for children under three years old who occupy their own seat. 
 
However, they cannot be used in the emergency exit rows, and the rows immediately before and after them.

Child harnesses must be approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) which includes the AmSafe Child Aviation Restraint System (CARES) child harness.

CARES child harnesses may not fit in some of our First and Business Class seats. For details, contact Singapore Airlines.

A child car seat can be brought on board the plane if it meets the following criteria:

Regulatory requirements

Child car seats must be approved by a foreign airworthiness authority and meet government standards, such as:

  • UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)​  
  • US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
  • UN Economic Commission for Europe (ECE)
  • Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS)​
  • Australian / New Zealand design standard for infant car seats​

 

Show our ground staff and cabin crew where the approval labels are located on your child car seat when asked. 

Physical requirements
 
Child car seats must meet these physical attributes:
 
  • Not exceed 16.5” x 17”​ (width × depth)
  • Must be forward or rear-facing and secured to the passenger seat with the aircraft safety belt by a lap belt or two-point harness.
  • Rear-facing child car seats without a belt path must be used with a detachable base; though not all detachable bases can fit properly on the aircraft passenger seat.
  • Be fitted according to the manufacturer’s standards and instructions. Please provide these documents to our ground staff and cabin crew when asked.​
  • Cannot extend unreasonably beyond the passenger seat. An adult in the row must be able to move past the car seat.​
  • Cannot extend sideways and block the aisle. 
  • Car seats not allowed on board our flights include:
    • Seats secured by a three-point harness
    • Booster seats
    • Vests and harness-type child restraint devices
