For flights between Male and Penang, our weight-concept baggage policy applies. Checked baggage allowances are: Economy Class (25kg on Lite and Value fares, 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares), Premium Economy Class (35kg), and Business Class (40kg). Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class guests may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class guests may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your exact allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on eligible aircraft once we are above 10,000 feet. KrisFlyer members enjoy free, unlimited Wi-Fi; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans. The service is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Singapore Changi Airport offers a wide range of amenities, from themed gardens and art installations to family zones, rest areas, and rooftop facilities, making even short layovers enjoyable. For longer connections, you can consider the official free transit tour, which typically requires at least 5.5 to 6 hours of layover time, subject to eligibility and operating hours. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

At Male Velana International Airport, eligible Singapore Airlines customers may be invited to use the Koveli Lounge before departure. During transit at Singapore Changi Airport, eligible travellers may be able to access facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on cabin class and frequent flyer status.

Male follows Maldives Time (UTC+5) and does not observe daylight saving time. Penang follows Malaysia Time (UTC+8), also without daylight saving. This means Penang is 3 hours ahead of Male throughout the year, so when it is 12.00pm in Male, it is 15.00pm in Penang.

We recommend arriving at Male Velana International Airport at least 3 hours before your scheduled departure, as you will check in for your Male to Singapore flight and receive boarding passes for both sectors to Penang. This allows time for check-in, security, and immigration formalities.
