Book the Cook
Eligible premium cabins on selected aircraft between Sydney and Singapore, and between Singapore and Jakarta, offer our Book the Cook service. You can pre-select from a wider menu of main courses before you fly, so your preferred dish is prepared specially for you on board.

Beverage Service
Throughout the journey, you can enjoy a selection of hot and cold drinks, including juices, soft drinks, tea, and coffee. A range of alcoholic beverages is also available, and our signature Singapore Sling is served on board as a highlight of the experience.

For flights between Sydney and Jakarta, the weight concept applies. Checked baggage allowances are: Economy Class (Lite and Value fares: 25kg; Standard and Flexi fares: 30kg), Premium Economy Class (35kg), Business Class (40kg), and Suites or First Class (50kg). Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, customers travelling in Economy Class and Premium Economy Class may bring 1 piece up to 7kg. Customers travelling in Business Class, Suites, or First Class may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final baggage allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on most Singapore Airlines services between Sydney, Singapore, and Jakarta once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure.

Non-members can purchase access plans on board. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the Sydney to Singapore sector, Economy Class seats typically offer a 32-inch pitch with up to 19-inch seat width, Premium Economy Class offers a 38-inch pitch with up to 20-inch seat width, and Business Class provides a fully flat bed with direct aisle access. Suites or First Class, where available, feature a fully flat bed and enhanced personal space.

On the Singapore to Jakarta sector operated by the Boeing 777-300ER, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class offer similar seat pitch and width, while Business Class and First Class feature fully flat beds designed for rest on this shorter regional flight.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

With a layover at Singapore Changi Airport, you can make the most of the many amenities within the terminals. If you have at least 5.5 to 6 hours, you may consider joining an official transit tour into the city, which lets you see highlights before returning in time for your onward flight.

For shorter layovers, staying airside is comfortable and convenient. You can explore themed gardens, quiet rest zones, and a wide choice of dining outlets, or take advantage of shower facilities and airport hotels for extra rest. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait - it is an integral part of your journey.

When departing from Sydney, eligible Singapore Airlines customers may access the SilverKris Lounge (First Class) or the SilverKris Lounge (Business Class) at Sydney Airport, depending on cabin and frequent flyer status. Access is determined by your departing flight from Sydney.

During your layover in Singapore, eligible customers may be able to use The Private Room, the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), the SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge. Lounge access depends on your class of travel and KrisFlyer or Star Alliance status, and is based on your onward flight from Singapore.

Sydney operates on Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST, UTC+10) from around April to early October, and Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT, UTC+11) from early October to early April. Jakarta uses Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7) year-round.

When Sydney is on AEST, Jakarta is 3 hours behind. When Sydney switches to AEDT, Jakarta is 4 hours behind. Always check the exact local times for your travel dates, as daylight saving changeover dates can vary slightly each year.

Visa requirements depend on your nationality, purpose of visit, and length of stay. We recommend checking the latest entry regulations for Indonesia with the relevant embassy or consulate, or through official government websites, before you travel from Sydney to Jakarta.

On arrival in Jakarta from Sydney via Singapore, you will follow signs for immigration, baggage claim, and customs. Ensure that your passport, completed arrival card if required, and any supporting travel documents are ready.
