For flights between Hanoi and Xiamen, the weight-concept baggage policy applies. In Economy Class, checked baggage allowances are 25kg for Lite and Value fares, and 30kg for Standard and Flexi fares. In Business Class, the checked baggage allowance is 40kg. Each individual checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg. Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. The final baggage allowance for your trip is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members have additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on most Singapore Airlines flights between Hanoi and Xiamen via Singapore once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. KrisFlyer members enjoy free, unlimited Wi-Fi; Economy Class and Business Class passengers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Non-members can purchase access plans on board.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Eligible customers may be able to use lounges such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Hanoi but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

Singapore Changi Airport is well suited to layovers, with extensive shopping, dining, indoor gardens, and quiet zones throughout the terminals. If you have at least 5.5 to 6 hours between flights, you may be able to join an official city transit tour, subject to eligibility and timing.

For shorter layovers, you can stay airside and enjoy attractions such as themed gardens, seating lounges, and children’s play areas. Some terminals also offer rest zones and airport hotels where you can shower or nap.

Hanoi follows Indochina Time, which is UTC+7 and does not observe daylight saving time. Xiamen follows China Standard Time, which is UTC+8 and also does not observe daylight saving time. Xiamen is therefore 1 hour ahead of Hanoi throughout the year.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Hanoi–Singapore and Singapore–Xiamen) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Xiamen is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
