For flights between Xiamen and Kolkata, the weight concept applies. In Economy Class, the checked baggage allowance is 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. In Business Class, the checked baggage allowance is 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class passengers may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Business Class passengers may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. The final allowance for your trip is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on most Singapore Airlines aircraft on the Xiamen–Singapore and Singapore–Kolkata sectors once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. KrisFlyer members enjoy free, unlimited Wi-Fi; Economy Class members must add their membership number at least 1.5 hours before departure.

The Next Segment Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Xiamen but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only. Eligible travellers may access facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), and KrisFlyer Gold Lounge at Singapore (SIN).

If you have a longer layover at Singapore Changi Airport, you can consider joining one of the official transit tours into the city, which typically require a minimum layover of around 5.5 to 6 hours and meeting eligibility criteria. This is a convenient way to see highlights of Singapore without handling your checked baggage.

For shorter layovers, staying airside is very comfortable. Changi Airport offers themed gardens, quiet rest zones, nap areas, and in some terminals attractions such as interactive installations, play areas, and viewing galleries. Showers, spas, and a range of dining options are also available.

If you prefer privacy or need extended rest, you can book an airport hotel or transit hotel within the terminal complex for a few hours. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

Xiamen follows China Standard Time (UTC+8) and does not observe daylight saving time. Kolkata follows Indian Standard Time (UTC+5:30), also without daylight saving. Kolkata is therefore 2 hours 30 minutes behind Xiamen throughout the year.
