Shoulder season covers late September and May, with warmer conditions of roughly 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F) in lowland and city areas, plus some haze or early monsoon build-up. Low season is during the summer monsoon from June to early September, when cities and the Terai can exceed 30°C (86°F) with high humidity and frequent rain, while winter months from December to February bring cooler, often dry weather, with Kathmandu sometimes dropping to around 5°C (41°F) at night and 15°C (59°F) by day.
