For flights between Mumbai and Medan, the weight-concept baggage policy applies. For checked baggage, Economy Class guests have 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. Premium Economy Class on the Airbus A380-800 Mumbai–Singapore sector offers 35kg. Business Class guests enjoy 40kg, and Suites on the Airbus A380-800 offer 50kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class guests may bring 1 piece up to 7kg, while Suites and Business Class guests may bring 2 pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final allowance is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members have additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines services from Mumbai to Medan once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members, and Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The 'Next Segment' Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Mumbai but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only. In Singapore, eligible passengers may be invited to the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, depending on cabin and status.

If you have a longer layover at Singapore Changi Airport, you can join the official free transit tour, which typically requires a minimum layover of around 5.5 to 6 hours. Shorter layovers are easily filled with the airport’s indoor gardens, rest areas, play zones, and other amenities across the terminals. For a quick refresh, you can consider airport hotels or spa and shower facilities located airside. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it's an integral part of your journey.

Mumbai operates on India Standard Time (IST), which is UTC+5:30 and does not observe daylight saving time. Medan follows Western Indonesia Time, which is UTC+7 and also does not change seasonally. Medan is therefore 1 hour 30 minutes ahead of Mumbai throughout the year.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Mumbai–Singapore and Singapore–Medan) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Medan is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.
