On the Seoul to Singapore and Singapore to Chennai sectors, you will be served meals designed to match the time of day and flight duration, with a choice of main courses in both Business Class and Economy Class.

Special Meals

Beverage Service
Throughout the journey, a complimentary selection of hot and cold drinks is available, including juices, soft drinks, tea, and coffee. Our signature Singapore Sling is also available on board.

For flights between Seoul and Chennai, the weight concept applies. For checked baggage, Economy Class passengers may bring 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. Business Class passengers may bring 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class passengers may bring one piece up to 7kg. Business Class passengers may bring two pieces, each up to 7kg. The final allowance for your trip is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights from Seoul to Chennai once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class members must add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

On the Seoul to Singapore sector, both the Boeing 787-10 and Airbus A350-900 offer Economy Class seats with a pitch of around 32 inches and up to 19 inches in seat width, while Business Class features a fully flat bed with direct aisle access.

On the Singapore to Chennai sector, the Boeing 737-8 MAX offers Economy Class with similar legroom, at around 32-inch pitch, and Business Class seats that convert to a fully flat surface with generous space. Across the journey, cabins are designed to maximise comfort and personal space.

Yes, Singapore Airlines provides lounge access to eligible passengers with a layover in Singapore. Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available. Eligible passengers may relax in facilities such as the SilverKris Lounge (First Class), SilverKris Lounge (Business Class), or the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.

Lounge Access Eligibility
Cabin Class: Complimentary for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers. Premium Economy and Economy travellers do not have access unless they hold eligible status.

Frequent Flyer Status: PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold (or Star Alliance Gold) members have access regardless of cabin class.

The Next Segment Rule: Eligibility is based on the flight immediately departing that airport. For example, if you fly Economy from Seoul but have a Business Class onward flight from Singapore, you get lounge access in Singapore only.

If you have a longer layover at Singapore Changi Airport, you can join a free transit tour into the city when available, typically requiring a minimum layover of around 5.5 to 6 hours. For shorter connections, you can enjoy airport gardens, rest areas, and entertainment zones without leaving the terminal.

Within the transit area, you will find quiet seating, children’s play spaces, and a wide range of dining options for a comfortable break between flights. Airport hotels and nap facilities are also available if you wish to rest and freshen up before your next sector.

Seoul follows Korea Standard Time (UTC+9) and does not observe daylight saving time. Chennai follows India Standard Time (UTC+5:30), also without daylight saving time. Chennai is 3.5 hours behind Seoul throughout the year, so when it is 12.00pm in Seoul, it is 8.30am in Chennai.

Yes, your baggage will typically be checked through to Chennai International Airport when flying from Seoul via Singapore on a single booking with Singapore Airlines.

Through-Check Conditions
For your bags to be sent directly to your final destination, the following general conditions must be met:

Single Itinerary: Both flight segments (Seoul–Singapore and Singapore–Chennai) must be under the same booking reference or PNR.

Layover Duration: Your connection in Singapore must be less than 24 hours. If your layover exceeds 24 hours, it is considered a stopover, and you will typically be required to collect your luggage and re-check it for your onward flight.

Partner Airlines: If your onward flight from Singapore to Chennai is operated by a partner airline, Singapore Airlines has through-check agreements that usually allow your bags to be tagged to your final destination.

You may be able to plan a stopover in Singapore on your Seoul–Chennai trip, subject to your ticket conditions and availability.
