For flights between Surabaya and Male, the weight concept applies. For checked baggage, Economy Class guests may take 25kg on Lite and Value fares, and 30kg on Standard and Flexi fares. Premium Economy Class guests may take 35kg, and Business Class guests may take 40kg. Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg.

For cabin baggage, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class guests may bring one piece up to 7kg. Business Class guests may bring two pieces, each up to 7kg. Your final baggage allowance is confirmed on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on Singapore Airlines flights on this route once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class members should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

Your eligibility is based on your class of travel or your KrisFlyer and Star Alliance status, and it is determined by your flight leaving Singapore. Other options, like purchasing a day pass at a pay-per-use lounge, are also available.

At Singapore Changi Airport, you can enjoy themed gardens, quiet rest areas, and family zones, as well as a wide choice of dining and shopping. With a longer layover of around 5.5 hours or more, you can consider joining an official transit tour of the city, subject to eligibility and schedules. For shorter stops, staying airside lets you relax, freshen up, and make use of airport facilities such as transit hotels, spas, and entertainment areas. Your time at Singapore Changi Airport is more than just a wait — it is an integral part of your journey.

When departing from Surabaya, eligible Singapore Airlines customers may be invited to use the Concordia Premier Lounge at Juanda International Airport (SUB). Lounge access depends on your cabin class, fare type, and KrisFlyer or Star Alliance status, as shown on your boarding pass.

Surabaya follows Asia/Jakarta time, which is UTC+7 year-round with no daylight saving time. Male follows Indian/Maldives time, which is UTC+5, also without daylight saving. Male is therefore 2 hours behind Surabaya throughout the year; for example, when it is 12.00pm in Surabaya, it is 10.00am in Male.

Visa and entry requirements depend on your nationality and the length and purpose of your stay. We recommend checking with the Maldives immigration authorities or your nearest Maldivian mission, and reviewing current requirements well before you travel.

Most resorts and many guesthouses in the Maldives arrange speedboat or seaplane transfers from Velana International Airport near Male. We recommend confirming your transfer details with your accommodation before departure and following their instructions upon arrival at the airport.

The climate in Male and the Maldives is warm and humid, so pack light, breathable clothing, swimwear, sun protection, and comfortable footwear for walking and boat transfers. Check if your accommodation has any specific dress guidelines for shared spaces or activities.

We recommend arriving at Juanda International Airport at least 2 to 3 hours before your scheduled departure to Singapore. This allows enough time for check-in, security, and immigration before you connect onward to Male.
