Spring shoulder season (March to May) brings mild weather across much of China, with typical daytime temperatures around 15–22°C (59–72°F) in many major cities. Summer peak season (June to August) is warmer and more humid, especially in southern cities like Guangzhou and Shenzhen, where temperatures often reach 28–33°C (82–91°F). Autumn shoulder season (September to early November) is generally clear and comfortable, with many destinations ranging from 12–24°C (54–75°F), making it a popular time for city breaks and outdoor sightseeing. Winter low season (late November to February) can be cold in northern cities such as Beijing, often between -5–5°C (23–41°F), while southern cities like Xiamen and Shenzhen stay milder at about 10–18°C (50–64°F).
