For flights between Jakarta and Johannesburg, the weight-concept baggage policy applies. Checked baggage allowances are: Economy Class (Lite and Value fares: 25kg; Standard and Flexi fares: 30kg), Premium Economy Class (35kg), Business Class (40kg), and First Class (50kg). Each checked bag must not exceed 32kg. Cabin baggage allowances are: Economy Class and Premium Economy Class (1 piece, up to 7kg), and Business Class and First Class (2 pieces, each up to 7kg). The final allowance applicable to your journey is shown on your e-ticket, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members enjoy additional allowances.

Wi-Fi is available on most Singapore Airlines services between Jakarta, Singapore, and Johannesburg once the aircraft is above 10,000 feet. It is free and unlimited for KrisFlyer members; Economy Class and Premium Economy Class customers should add their membership number to the booking at least 1.5 hours before departure. Paid plans are available for non-members. The connection is suitable for messaging, email, and basic browsing, but it does not support video streaming, video calls, or large file transfers.

For longer connections, you may be able to join an official transit tour into the city centre, usually requiring at least around 5.5 to 6 hours of available layover time to participate. Families can make use of play areas and entertainment zones, while many travellers appreciate the wide choice of dining and shopping within the terminals.
