The cost of travel insurances are automatically calculated based on a number of factors, including your destination and the duration of your trip.


Traveling with an Infant? If you arrange travel insurance through singaporeair.com, your child under 2 years of age and sharing a single airline seat with an adult passenger will be covered for free!


Summary of benefits

If you are purchasing a new policy, we have amended the AIG travel insurance policy to cover certain situations pertaining to COVID-19, depending on whether you are purchasing a return trip or a one-way trip. Full terms, conditions and exclusions can be found in the Terms and Conditions (Gold or Platinum).

Overseas Medical & Emergency Medical Evacuation & Repatriation Overseas Medical & Emergency Medical Evacuation & Repatriation if you contract COVID-19 while traveling internationally (up to NZ $370,000).
Cancellation Fee, Loss of Deposits Cancellation Fees, Loss of Deposits before departure for non-refundable travel and or accommodation expenses if you or your relative contracts COVID-19 before your scheduled trip departure date.
Curtailment or Incompletion of your trip Curtailment or Incompletion of your trip for non-refundable trip costs and additional travel expenses to return to New Zealand if you or your relative contract COVID-19 while traveling internationally.
Out-of-country COVID-19 Diagnosis Quarantine Allowance Up to NZ $220/day/person for up to 14 consecutive days if while on a trip, you test positive for COVID-19, and as a result are unexpectedly placed into mandatory Quarantine outside New Zealand. 


For one-way trips, the ONLY benefit available is Cancellation Fee, Loss of Deposits.

Overseas Medical & Emergency Medical Evacuation & Repatriation / Out-of-country COVID-19 Diagnosis Quarantine Allowance

  • Original Doctors / Hospital accounts and receipts
  • Original Doctors Certificate


Reimbursement of Cancellation, Loss of Deposits / Curtailment or Incompletion of your trip

  • Original Receipts and/or Tickets relating to loss of deposits or additional expenses incurred
  • Substantiation i.e. Original Doctor/Hospital Certificate relating to the Sick person or letter relating to cancellation
  • Documentation confiriming whether any refund due for the unused prepaid bookings
